3. Train & Ploemeur

Finally, the day had come for us to take our first train! After initial confusion on where to sit, Kris used her bubbly & excited personality (in french no less) to get 1st class seats. Like kids in the candy store for the first time, the train was the preferred way to go, and we finally got to show off our wonderful REI backpacks.

Initially excited to have arrived in Lorient train station, we were worried how
we would find Angie...that lasted about 2 minutes when she came honking her horn & waving her hands with a huge smile on her face. Over the next 2+ days, we got the grand tour of the area, loved their house and had a great time with the young & energetic Elliot & Margot. Of course the food was too good for us to pass up...

Check list:

- Great beaches and lots of boats
- Mussels & fries along the coast
- Lots of Wine and Fromage!
- Local farmers market
- Pont d' Aven (great little old french town, full of arts & galleries)
- Pierre's aunt's house, which was temporarily taken over by the germans during WWII
